DESIGN

BUILD

Team Sponsor

The overall goal of the Design Build competition is a little bit different to the other teams, in that in this competition we are expected to present a design of a building to the judges. Design Build also includes estimating, scheduling, and the other normal procedures of construction management, but a main focus of this team is how to eloquently show off your design ideas, in a presentation using a number of BIM softwares, which offers students chance to learn about the design process and how to use softwares to show off a 3D and 2D version of the teams ideas.

- Design Build Lead, Gustavo Martinez

CIVIL

Team Sponsor

The Heavy Civil competition consists of freeways, bridges, dams, and other large civic structures. The team is trained to estimate and schedule these items. During the competition, the team will be tasked with explaining how they plan to construct the project, and how they finalized their bid price to win the project. Finally, the team will present to the ASC sponsor company a detailed schedule, crew & equipment selection, site access plans, any foreseen issues, and a detailed budget.

COMMERCIAL

The team is tasked with completing a schedule, an estimate of certain materials, coordinating work, managing workers and certain situations, choosing subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality control checks, and providing an overall financial status report of the project. Finally, the team presents the project information to the ASC sponsor company.
